Hamburg to Budapest Training Week

I have been down in Phoenix getting into shape for this years bike ride.  While not the longest ride I have ever done it is going to be a first as this ride will be a credit card supported tour.  By credit card supported I mean that there will be no vehicle support accompanying us. I will have to haul all of my luggage on my bike. The plan is to keep luggage to an absolute minimum.

The tour will be from Hamburg to Budapest. It will be approximately 1600 kms or 1000 miles.  It is divided into three segments.  The first is from Hamburg to Prague which follows the Elbe river.  The second segment is from Prague to Vienna and follows a Greenway. The third segment is from Vienna to Budapest and follows the Danube.

My friend Aussie Bob is organizing the tour and there will be six of us on the tour.  My friend from Calgary Ken C, Aussie Bob and three ladies from the Sydney bike club.

Ken C (pictured above in yellow and black) and my friend from Ft Wayne Earnie W.  have been down here this week helping out with my training.   We had just returned from a ride and Lovely Rita came bounding out to welcome us home.  |So Agnes snapped our picture.

I look forward to following your walking adventure over the next week.
